When it comes to crucial automotive systems, steering is right up there with the engine and the brakes. If your Power Steering fails you could be in danger, and a power steering fluid leak or a low fluid level could cause it to fail. Vehicles can be very hard to steer without power steering and if it goes suddenly, you could lose control. Fortunately, it takes just a few minutes to check your power steering fluid level.
Check your power steering fluid once a month. If you have to add power steering fluid more than once a year you should have the system checked. Power steering systems are easily damaged if you drive when the fluid is very low and running our of power steering fluid will damage the pump.
Eight out of ten vehicles on the road today are in need of repair. Don’t let a minor power steering leak go undetected. Small leaks usually turn into large ones over time and replacing a clamp or power steering hose is far less expensive than replacing a power steering pump. Problems with your steering occur gradually so it’s important to pay attention to small changes in the way your car handles, especially when you turn the wheel.

What is that Squealing?
When you hear a high-pitched squeal your drive belt may be slipping on the power steering unit.
Why is the Steering Suddenly Heavy?
If it takes more effort to turn the wheel, you may have lost you power steering belt or run out of power steering fluid.
What is that Growling Noise?
If your steering growls when you turn the wheel, your power steering fluid may be low. You 
may have a leak in the power steering system.
What is that Moaning?
Your power steering pump may be about to fail if you hear a moaning noise when you turn the wheel.
Why is it Difficult to Turn the Wheel?
Too much play or looseness in the steering is an indication of worn parts.
What is that Buzzing?
If your steering buzzes when you turn at slow speeds, it may be caused by low steering fluid.
Why Does My Steering Pull to the Left or Right?
Your suspension may be out of alignment and uneven tire pressure can cause the vehicle to pull to one side.
Why is the Steering Wobbling?
If you feel vibrations through the steering wheel, your tires could be the problem. Check to see that your tire pressures are the same and inspect your tires for damage. If those check out OK, one or more tires may be out of balance.
